How To Mount the LENOVO CPU Fan

Mounting LENOVO G560 CPU Fan is a three part process: First, inspect the heat-sink/fan. Second, if you don’t have thermal paste preapplied to the heat-sink/fan combination, you will need to apply it. Third, attach the heat-sink/fan to the CPU. Many of these steps will feel familiar to someone who has extensively modded their computers. However, even veteran builders might learn some useful tips from a review.
Step one, examine the size and shape of the heat-sink/fan. If you’re not certain it will fit, you may want to carefully measure it so that length of the heat-sink/fan’s power connector will reach its corresponding connector on the motherboard. If you don’t, you may find yourself remounting the HSF, after rubbing off its thermal paste.
Step two, if you don’t have thermal paste already applied to your heat sink, you will need to add it. Application requires several steps:
Prime the heat sink and CPU surfaces: If you were to take an electron microscope and examine the surfaces of the heat sink and CPU, it would appear as an alien planet, filled with valleys and craters. You can prime each surface with thermal compound, which fills in these valleys with thermally conductive material, enhancing the flow of heat. To do so, take a microfiber cloth or coffee filter, and apply a tiny amount of thermal paste to each surface and rub until it feels smooth.

Apply the thermal compound in one of four basic patterns, depending on the CPU: Either (1) a vertical line, (2) a horizontal line, (3) covering the surface or (4) a rice-sized dot in the center of the CPU. For more information on how-to apply thermal compound, check out Arctic Silver’s brilliant application guide. Personally, I always use a dot, regardless of the CPU type.
Keep the following tips in mind: If reusing an older heat sink, remove the thermal paste on the CPU and the heat sink using 90%+ alcohol solutions. Apply the alcohol to a lint-free wipe and use this to remove the thermal compound. I prefer using denatured alcohol, although I’ve been told that the bitumen residue may lead to undesirable side-effects .

Metal-ion thermal pastes are also electrically conductive. If you accidentally apply it to your hands and then touch the motherboard, you may cause a fatal short. Therefore, when applying such a compound, keep your hands clean and exercise extreme caution.
Don’t apply too much thermal paste. After pressing the heat sink into the top of the CPU, it will cause the paste to spread out. A little goes a long way. Typically applying a dot the size of a grain of rice is sufficient.
Step three, attach the heat sink:
On stock Intel heat-sink/fans, the push-pin attachment style leaves a great deal to be desired. Optimally, it’s best applied before you screw the motherboard into the PC chassis. If this isn’t an option, you take the risk of damaging your board. Fortunately, many aftermarket Intel HSF use push-pins that actually work. There’s also back plate-equipped alternatives that dispense with the pins mechanism.

How to Choose a Good LENOVO CPU Fan

The central processing unit (CPU) of your computer can generate large amounts of heat, which if not dissipated properly, can damage the internal components, rendering your computer useless. For the smooth functioning of your computer, you must ensure that you have a proper cooling system in place, that can effectively dissipate the heat generated and keep your system cool.

The cooling system for your processor consists of a heat sink and a fan. The LENOVO X61 CPU Fan is attached to the heat sink, which is a block with numerous fins. The heat generated by the CPU is dissipated by the fins of the heat sink, and the airflow created by the movement of the blades of the fan helps to speed up the process.

Choosing a Good CPU Fan

It helps to know that the heat sink and fan that come with a new CPU are mostly of average quality, and only do a fair job in cooling your system. If you want a computer that works silently, or if your computer has been overheating of late, then it's highly recommended that you invest in a high-quality fan and heat sink combination. So, how do you choose the right one for your processor? Just considering the following factors will help you.

1. Socket Type and Size

The first parameter that you should consider when choosing a CPU fan is the size and type of the socket in your CPU, and this applies even when you're choosing a heat sink. A fan that is not compatible with your CPU will do little to serve your purpose. So, before you look for different designs of fans, make sure you refer to the computer manual to know the exact model of your processor, along with the size and type of its socket.

2. Noise Output

So, you've found a few nice makes of fans that are compatible with your CPU, but what next? Well, the next factor to consider is the noise output, which is the sound emitted by the fan during operation. The noise output is rated in Sones, and higher the rating, louder the fan. Note that a bigger fan emits lesser noise as compared to a fan of smaller size.

3. Airflow Rating

Airflow rating is the measure of the volume of air that the fan moves per minute. The higher the airflow rating, the higher the cooling capacity of  LENOVO X61 CPU Fan. The airflow rating is directly proportional to the number of rotations per minute (rpm). A smaller fan has a higher rpm, and hence, can cool faster than a bigger fan. When you choose a fan, go for one that offers you a balance of both, airflow rating and noise output.

4. Overclocking

Overclocking is the process of operating your computer at a speed that is greater than the default clock frequency. It requires an increase in the operating voltage, resulting in increased consumption of power and increased heat generation. The excess heat generated must be dispersed effectively for the system to function properly and prevent damage. So, if you're overclocking your system, it is highly recommended that you invest in an efficient cooling system (one with a high airflow rating) for your processor.

5. Case Clearance

The size of the fan you choose also depends on the case clearance, which is the amount of room available inside the CPU case and around the socket area. If you have a smaller case, then you have no option but to settle for a smaller fan, even if it's low noise output you're seeking.

6. Ambient Room Temperature

While it may not have occurred to you, but the temperature of the immediate surroundings does play a key role in your choice of a CPU fan. If you've placed your system in an air-conditioned environment, then you can probably go for a bigger CPU fan that moves less air. However, if the temperature of your room is relatively warm, then you have no choice but to opt for a smaller fan with a higher airflow rating.

If you're planning to purchase LENOVO X61 CPU Fan, just find out if it comes with a heat sink, so that you wouldn't have to purchase one separately. And in case you do have to purchase a heat sink, go for one that is made from copper, as opposed to aluminum. This is because copper conducts heat better than aluminum, and hence, is more effective in dissipating heat.

How Do I Choose the Best LENOVO R61 Screen Protector?

Putting a LENOVO R61 Screen protector on your computer helps to protect it from damage, dirt and oils, and can even help to reduce glare, making it easier to work on the laptop in bright office environments or outside. When selecting a notebook screen protector, determine the purpose of the protector -- not all of them offer anti-glare benefits, for example. Also find out if the product carries a warranty against damage; some of the more reputable companies will offer a warranty if the notebook screen becomes damaged due to a failure of the screen protector to perform as advertised.

When you are choosing a notebook screen protector, there are some important features to look for. The first is durability. One way to find a durable product is to find one that is stated to last the life of the computer screen, and one that can be removed and reapplied if needed. Not only does this make installation a lot easier -- after all, it's hard to line it up exactly right the first time you try -- but it also indicates that the product will hold up better over time. Single-use screen protectors, which must be applied correctly the first time and then discarded if removed, can be a good choice for smaller devices like touchscreen phones, but are not as practical for notebook screens because of the larger area.

Next, consider whether the notebook screen protector offers anti-glare benefits. Many notebook screens are highly reflective, making them great for playing video games or watching media in a darker room, because this makes the colors more vibrant. To use them in bright offices or outdoors, however, can very difficult. Selecting a notebook screen protector that will reduce glare can make it possible to use the laptop in many different types of environments. Some manufacturers even state that their product will protect the eyes from the sun's UV rays reflecting off the screen, when using the notebook outside.

Be sure to choose the proper size of LENOVO R61 Screen protector to match your specific screen. Generally, the measurements are taken diagonally; from the top left corner to the bottom right corner, for example. Once the screen protector is applied, it will help to protect the computer screen from dirt and grime in the air; oils from fingertips; or damage from bumping into the laptop keys when the computer is closed. It is also much easier and safer to clean a laptop screen protector than just the screen itself, for which only a soft cloth should be used, never cleaning products.

What is LENOVO Y430 Screen Protector?

A laptop screen protector is a piece of film usually placed over the screen of a laptop in order to reduce chances of damage to the screen. In addition, it has a number of other features and the material is usually made from an anti-glare film which helps reduce eye strain and could help increase productivity. In addition, the anti-reflective film properties of the LENOVO Y430 Screen protector help keep background light reflection to a minimum.

Many laptop screen protector manufacturers often stress the protector's privacy abilities. Many times, a laptop computer is used around others, and some of the information being displayed is not for others to see. Therefore, to ensure that curious eyes do not wander to the screen, a screen protector film will create a screen door effect, much like already naturally exists on LCD screens, but to a greater degree. This effect will minimize the viewing angles so that the display is not as easily seen.

Due to the various nature of materials that can be used in a laptop screen protector, the durability varies widely. Some screen protectors may be no more than a thin piece of plastic film. Others can be much more substantial, including having multiple layers, even a hard outer layer. Depending on the material, the use and abuse, a laptop screen protector can last anywhere from a few weeks to two years or even longer.

In addition to the benefits to the computer hardware, the laptop screen protector can also provide a number of benefits to the user. Those who suffer from eye strain from looking at a computer for too long may find that a such a screen protector will help substantially. However, making other adjustments should also not be overlooked, including giving the eyes plenty of rest at least a few minutes every hour.

It should be possible to find LENOVO Y430 Screen protectors for sale wherever computer accessories are sold. From office supply stores to electronics shops, they are a common item. It is important to find the ones right for your particular computer model. This includes not only looking for one the size of the screen but also the shape of the screen. While most laptop screens are now widescreen models, laptop computers may also be made for the more traditional screens.

What Kind of LENOVO CPU Fan Do You Need?

Are you looking to mount a new Lenovo x61 CPU fan? Finding the right CPU fan requires a great deal of research. Not only do different fan sizes populate the market, a byzantine maze of CPU socket types, bearing technologies, fan speeds and more greatly complicate the selection process. Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place.

The PC component that keeps your CPU cool consists of two separate parts – the heat sink, which is typically a block of metal, designed to maximize airflow and surface area. The second part is the fan. Together they’re commonly referred to as the heat-sink/fan combo or HSF, for short. Lots of technologies and aftermarket products exist. Some are designed to reduce noise while others are designed for maximum cooling. All of them, however, require you know a few things about your computer.

Determining what sort of Lenovo x61 CPU fan you need takes five steps.

First, find your motherboard’s CPU socket.

Second, measure the available height in your case between the top of the CPU and the panel of the computer’s chassis.

Third, inspect the area on your motherboard surrounding the CPU socket.

Fourth, determine how fast you want the fan to run.

Fifth, find the Thermal Design Power (TDP) of your CPU, if you are not using the stock (the one that comes with the CPU) HSF combo. TDP is the heat output of your CPU, measured in watts.

How to Install LENOVO CPU Fan

The Central Processing Unit or CPU is the component of a computer that processes all information and also known as the computer processor. The processor tends to heat up when being used. The processor tends to melt or break down when the heat produced is not dissipated. The CPU fan cools the computer’s processor and prevents it from breaking down. For better cooling function, the LENOVO G560 CPU Fan is installed with a heat sink. A heat sink is a metallic device that attaches directly to the CPU, drawing away the heat of the CPU through its aluminum fin-like structure. CPU fans, along with heat sinks, come in a wide variety of designs and sizes. Most new processors come with their own CPU fan and heat sink.

Materials Needed:
- CPU Fan normally with heat sink
- screwdriver
- heat sink compound

Step 1
Choose an appropriate CPU fan and heat sink. If the processor does not come with its own CPU fan and heat sink, a fan appropriate for the processor must be bought. The fan appropriate to the computer may be seen on the computer’s manual. The available space inside the computer’s casing must be taken into consideration when installing a CPU fan.

Step 2
Shut down the computer and open the casing so that the CPU is exposed. Set aside screws, clips, and the cover for the CPU.

Step 3
Affix the CPU fan to its heat sink. This may have already been done. If the fan has not been attached, carefully fasten the fan and heat sink together by using the screws that came with the device.

Step 4
Attach the heat sink and fan to the CPU. The method of attaching the heat sink and fan to your CPU differs for CPU, CPU fan, and heat sink. A thin layer of heat sink compound may be spread on the CPU’s surface to ensure contact. Some fans and heat sinks attach to the CPU chip with a number of clips. Attach the fan gently with an even amount of force. Make sure not to damage the CPU and the motherboard of the computer.

Step 5
Connect the power cable of the heat sink and fan combination to the 3-pin power lead found on the computer’s motherboard. Search for a label 'fan' or 'CPU fan.'

Step 6
Replace computer cover and test the LENOVO G560 CPU Fan.
